We happily ate our sad breakfast this morning. Happy that we were leaving the hotel we paid & headed into town about 10am. Our bus wasn't until 12.30pm so we sat on the banks of the river opposite the bridge for an hour celebrating that the sun has returned. A right of passage for the young men in Mostar is to jump from the bridge. They also have a professional diving club here. Well we watched 2 young locals pretending to dive but then climbing back over the rails, milking it to make money from the tourists. Unfortunately they never did it whilst we were watching & we just knew that they would dive soon after we had left. We then headed over the bridge one last time & up to the bus station. Here we ran into a kiwi guy Chris who we had met on our walking tour in Sarajevo. He is sort of following our path for a few days & had come to buy his ticket for Dubrovnik tomorrow. We had a chat & will catch up with him there. The bus arrived & we were happy to see that it was modern, even having seat belts. Nice bus, nice roads makes a nice change. It was pretty full so we were happy that we booked in advance. Half of the bus was filled with tourists from all over. The trip was pretty uneventful & we got through the border crossings pretty easily. I'll say though that there is a lot going for Western Europe's ease of travel. So into Croatia & the landscape was different to Bosnia, especially as we got on the coast. We drove along the hills beside the ocean & got to see lots of islands & beautiful little coastal towns. The waters of the Adriatic looked so inviting & we're hoping we can get in for a swim at some stage. Once arriving we grabbed a cab to the hotel, well not a hotel it is actually someone's house. But it is clean & they are friendly so we are happy. We are a little way from the old town but we found a bus stop & have it all sorted now. 5 mins to the stop & 5 mins on the bus to get to the old part so all good. We went & had a quick look around & the place is really spectacular, sitting within the ancient walls. It has an amazing feel & we're pretty happy to be having four nights here. It is pretty crowded with tourists but that is the trade off with traveling in summertime I guess. Well we had a pretty cheap dinner, although Croatia is a little bit more expensive to what we have been paying over the last week. After the munch we took a few photos but were feeling pretty tired so caught the bus home. Tomorrow we'll get in & experience the charm that this city has to offer.
