Had a kind of frustrating day today. Going to breaky at the hotel made us sad, just really sad. It was bread & crappy coffee & nothing else edible. We needed to get washing done & asked the hotel yesterday to do it as advertised by them. They said they couldn't so I researched, with great difficulty, where a laundromat was & we set out. It was 2.5 km's that we walked to get there only to find it was closed until 12pm. We had 30 mins to kill so went to Maccas for a surprisingly UnMcDonalds coffee, in that it was good. We then returned to the laundromat at 12 only to sit there for 20 mins to finally accept that nobody was coming. Pretty annoyed by this stage so we headed back to the hotel with our bags of washing & Jac convinced them to wash it for us. It was going to be 1.5 hours so we wandered over the old bridge & through the old town to a travel agent. We needed to book a bus to Dubrovnik for tomorrow but they couldn't, so they sent us to the bus station. We walked all the way there & thankfully were able to get out of Mostar at 12.30pm tomorrow. With tickets in hand we walked all the way back to the hotel to grab our washing & hang it all around our room. We had covered about 15 km's so far with nothing but chores completed to show for it. We hadn't seen much of the town but we were a little over the day so spent the afternoon just relaxing in the room. About 5pm we got ourselves motivated to explore. In all honesty an afternoon is all you need in Mostar. We saw the old bridge & the free exhibition next door that details how the bridge was blown up during the war, & subsequently rebuilt. From there we wandered through the old town, & that was just about all you need to see here. It is very beautiful but we can see why so many tours just arrive for a few hours. We returned to the restaurant that we ate at last night, but the feed wasn't quite as nice. Then it was home to watch a bit of tv for the evening & prepare for tomorrow's departure. Considering it is Bosnia there are about 8 channels showing English shows. Well make that American shows.
