What a beautiful day to wake up to. Only a fluffy little white cloud here & there in an otherwise completely blue sky. We were up early to walk down the hill to the port where we stopped at a bakery & grabbed some breakfast. At 9.50pm we found our boat that was to be our transport for the day. She was a mighty fine vessel. We boarded & found a seat in the aft section (that's the back part for you land lubbers), then motored off to pick up our first passengers. There were about 35 of us setting out into the open seas, just a nice amount. We cruised for about 40 mins to arrive at our first island of Kolocep. We had an hour on this island so Jac & I wandered through some tracks to reach a couple of small 10th century churches. We took some photos then returned back to the beach so Jac could get her ankles wet. It was then back on the boat where we glided through the water to reach the island of Sipan. Here they discharged half our fellow passengers to explore whilst the rest of us feasted on fresh fish & salad cooked on the boat. It had a great flavour, but I spent more time focussing on the hundreds of fish in the water that I was feeding my scraps to. They were going crazy for the fish with the ultimate frenzy coming when we discarded the carcasses of our lunch. It was then our turn to explore for 40 mins so we aimed for a monastery 800 metres away. We never did make it & had to run a little to get back. It was worthwhile though as we kept finding these little frogs, about an inch long, hopping about everywhere. Back on the boat & it was off to the final island of Lopud. Here we spent 3 hours so we had a little explore of the town then hired an umbrella on the small sandy beach they have. Over the next few hours we swam a few times in the Adriatic Sea, another one ticked off the list. With the umbrella we were able to relax and enjoy being out in the 27 deg day. Finally it was back to the boat & our return journey to shore. On arriving they dropped us in the old town so we could have some dinner, then returned home for an earlyish evening. It was a great day, but I guess how could it be otherwise when you're visiting islands? In 2 days of exploring we have seen everything we wanted to see here. We have a morning boat cruise tomorrow to take us along the walls of Dubrovnik, but with thunderstorms forecast we may have to rethink. There are certain times you probably don't want to be out on the water.
