Lets take this gig global!!
Alright guys,
well I got to Byron Bay ok in the end. Had a bit of a Weston Super tho on the coach booking. It was a tough decision to decide whether to stop off anywhere on the way and try and do something a little different but after much debating I thought it was best to come straight here (turns out to be the right decision too!) But I (dont ask me why) got the daytime coach from Sydney which left at 7am so had to be up at 5:30am and couldnt then return my key card to reception so lost my $20 deposit (idiot!) then wasted a whole day sat on a bus. Why I chose to do it that way I dunno but you live and learn I guess. its gonna be night buses from now on as the journey goes alot quicker as you sleep most of the way and you save on a nights accomodation. Anyways enough moaning as it wasnt that bad a trip and I met a nice Norweigen girl and a couple of other travellers.
For my first two nights I stayed at the Arts Factory here in Byron but I wasnt really diggin' the vibe there (mostly full of pretentious wannabe surfing "dudes" who give it all the surf chat when they have only had one lesson and probably cant even stand up yet!!) I even heard some guy telling these Ozzies that there is no surf in the UK and the little there is is crap! So I put him right on that one straight away!! The hostel was also a little pricey so I have moved today to a nice wee place right next to the beach. It rained yesterday (sods law as soon as I arrive!) but is an absolute blinder today and the forecast for the rest of the week is good too so probs gonna stay here until about Thursday then move onto Surfers Paradise.
Im loving Byron itself tho, a real chilled out friendly little town with some amazing beaches and scenic walks. Looking forward to getting stuck in. Oh, and Lucy is arriving today aswell on her way down the east coast so its gonna be a good little Nomads reunion.
Anyways I need to go now as my time is up, Will write a proper update soon.
