Today we drove from Lake Louise to Vancouver. We lucked out on the weather while we were in Alberta. It was cold but sunny the entire time we were in Banff and Lake Louise, but this morning it was grey and rainy. The clouds were very low over Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains, which made for dramatic scenery as we drove west.
While driving roughly 800km might not seem interesting to most people, we had lots of lovely scenery to entertain us. The melting snow on the mountains we travelled through created lots of waterfalls in the distant mountains, as well as on the road side. Damien was also pleased to see more large birds of prey flying overhead.
We arrived in Vancouver with a fair amount of evening peak hour traffic. After navigating some Downtown one way streets we made our way to the hotel, which is in a great area right in the middle of Downtown. We had dinner at an amazing Thai restaurant near the hotel and starting thinking about our plans for the our next few days here.
