After our late night we were a bit slow getting out of bed this morning and it was about 9am as we sat down in a cafe to have brekky! We then joined the throng of people who were all heading to the HK Electronics Fair at the Convention Centre which is only a 10 minute walk from our Hotel. The centre was jam packed with people of every colour, race and creed and we were glad we had pre-registered so we didn't have to join the huge queues.
So we did the same as yesterday and started walking the aisles at one end of the halls and kept going until we had seen it all!!!!!!!!!
Not as many things of interest to Jase today, lots of components, peripherals and novelty stuff, but it was amazing to see all the gear - definitely a real eye opener! By about 3pm we had had enough and walked back to the hotel to have a shower and a bit of a spell. It is amazing how far the Chinese have come in their quest to make everything that the world uses, but sometimes they get caught out! We saw a huge sign advertising equipment for "aotomobiles", and a girls wearing a T shirt with "crorodile" on the back!!! Spelling is NOT a strong point!
Later on we found a bar on Lockhart Road and had a beer while watching some of the sleazier pubs and bars doing a roaring trade - still a few "girly" bars in this area as well as some really nice wine bars and clubs. From there we walked down to the Wan Chai pier to catch one of the Star Ferries that run back and forth to Tsim Sha Tsui so that we could see the lights of Hong Kong city but even at 7pm the crowds of workers going home made that a pretty poor idea - the queues were 100 metres long at all the gates! We will do that another time, maybe later at night.
So then we walked back along Harbour Road and then found a spot to have something to eat before a shower and bed.
