Last full day in the UK today so decided to drive around the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Through Burford which looked like an interesting market town then to Chipping Norton which was very busy and commercial so we drove on to Stow on the World where we stopped, had the best Caesar Salad for lunch then walked around the village which had heaps of character filled shops and buildings.
Then drove to the tiny villages of Lower Slaughter and Upper Slaughter which are off the main roads and picture postcard perfect and quiet.
Then drove onto to Bourton on Water which is a beautiful village set around a stream which runs through the middle and has lots of little bridges across it but it was very busy with tourists and visiting families picnicking on the grass by the stream
Deirdre arrives soon and we have booked into a character filled pub restaurant in Clanfield just down the road from our cottage in Bampton so should be a good night
Tomorrow we return the hire car to Oxford, head to Deirdres for the day before going to Heathrow in the evening
