Hello everyone,
We have been in Birmingham for nearly 2 weeks now. We are staying in a "guest house" which is actually not bad for the price. We are only about 2 miles from the city centre, but it takes about 30-40 mins to get there sometimes on the bus at peak times. We both like Birmingham, as the people are much nicer than they are in London (in general).
The bus trip here with National Express was CRAP! The heating was over powering and the bus was full of old people who reclined their seats the whole way.
Lynnie is working hard supply teaching. So far she has done a few days in a reception class (4 year olds) and a couple of days in a nursery class (3 year olds!!) I can't believe how young they start school here. Teaching is very different here. The schools are gated and you need to buzz to get in. You also need to show photo id when you arrive. The children are only allowed to leave the classroom when their parent comes to the door and the teacher identifies them - there are strict, scary child protection laws.
Court is currently a bum/house slave/kept woman and seeing as how we only have a couple of weeks til our trip will get a job upon our return to Birmingham in late April.
Last weekend we went to the Sealife Aquarium; it was awesome. There was a cool 4D movie and it was all well worth the money. This weekend we plan to go to a Safari park tomorrow if it doesn't rain and then on Sunday we are going to a St Patrick's Day parade and then to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D! We are both looking forward to it all.
We are looking forward to our up and coming trip to Spain, France and Wales. We leave for Wales in a couple of weeks and then it is off to Spain and finally France for Court's 21st! :)
Love Court and Lynnie
P.S. We would like to make a special shout out to our Mums for their birthdays - Kay on 13th March and Sketti on 24th March :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY(S)
