Hi guys,
We have now finished our Topdeck tour of Europe and we have made our way to Edinburgh... when we did our last blog entry we were in Berlin. After that we went to Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was very relaxed there. Where went to visit the Anne Frank house which was cool, we had to wait about an hour in line to get in, but it was worth seeing. We also went on a cycle tour which was scary as people just cycle, drive and walk anywhere and no one wears helmets ... but we survived :) We also went out for dinner to a restaurant on the sea, it was nice. We saw the famous/infamous red light district...
Our camp ground was very crowded so we didn't like it too much there. But the Netherlands is definitely a place we would go back to, just not Amsterdam. We stopped at a Cheese and Clogs farm as we entered The Netherlands and that was cool.
Amsterdam was the last city in our tour and then we returned to London. We arrived back at about 5pm and got checked into our accommodation. The next day we spent getting organised for the next leg of our trip - sending stuff home etc. That night we went to see Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. It was awesome :) We both really enjoyed it. We thought it was way better than the Lion King. The lady playing the wicked witch had an amazing voice.
On Saturday we hired the car - a Fiat Punto - from Kings Cross and drove to Legoland. We hired a sat-nav for an extra 4 pounds a day and just as well because otherwise we would still be in central London... It was really stressful trying to get out of there but we managed without too much trouble. We arrived at Legoland at about 11am and were there until 4. It was really cool!!! We only went on about 3 rides as we had to wait an hour for each, since it was the weekend, but they were worth it :) Lynnie thought she might be in heaven. The shops were really amazing, it would be awesome to have that much lego! We settled for a postcard, some magnets and a few other things that wouldn't break the budget - we did however want it all! That night we stayed in a Travelodge near Heathrow which was really nice.
The next day we drove up to the Lake District via Birmingham. We stayed in a place called Kirkby Lonsdale in the middle of nowhere - it was a really nice place. We stayed at a camp ground in a Wigwam :) The next day we went for a drive up to Windermere where we bought our magnet and postcard and had scones with jam and cream :)
Later that day we drove up to Edinburgh. We checked into our hostel at about 3pm and that night went to the Military Tattoo. It was amazing - even though it rained about half the time. We got very wet and cold. New Zealand's band and Highland Dancers were there this year and they got some of the biggest cheers. They had a funny performance.
Today we are off to explore Edinburgh...
Talk to you all soon :)
Lynnie and Court xoxo
