Next day we travelled around the ankor what temple region visiting most of the temples that appear to be dated from 900 to 1300 ad to the most famous one Angkor Wat which the sheer scale was bewildering and although the Hindu/buddha religion is no longer practiced if you let your imagination loose to what it must of been like is fascinating.
We all stopped for lunch including our guide at a shack with tables in the middle of the jungle and despite his assurances that the food was excellent (it did look good) but me and clare politely declined at stuck with our can of Coke as we were looking forward to our toasted croquet.
One of the temples we had the opportunity to hire an elephant to take us both around one of the complexes - I now know what it must feel like when you are on the rear seats of the car - I felt seasick the time I came off.
