Hi all!
Just a quick one...we are currently in Manuel Antonio, home to lots of tropical beaches and one of Costa Ricas most famous National Parks.
We arrived yesterday after a 6 hour drive and one hour ferry ride...yawwwn! It was a long trip but lots of pretty islands to see as we crossed the ocean and the bus ride wasn't too bad! We are staying in a hostel with the best sea view I have ever seen! The Hostel 'Vista Serena' is really cool, we are staying in a bungalow room which is seperate from the hostel rooms and has its own kitchen, large balcony looking out to sea, a large living room with a TV and hot water shower...woohoooo! We haven't had a hot shower since leaving Palmares over a week ago! We hare the bungalow with one other couple, as there are two double bedrooms. Kat and Chris are really nice and weirdly spend their last weekend before flying to Costa Rica, in Derby!!! Small world! They are about to embark on a four week TEFL course in San Jose and then work their way around Costa Rica for a year or so. ...very envious!
Last night we all cooked and shared some drinks in the bungalow, the sunset is stunning and we have a couple of hammocks to laze in whilst enjoying the view! It was nice to cook again, as it has been quite a while and also proved a good way to save some pennies! This morning we had a walk to the beach...white sand, and backed by rainforest...Costa Rica has the best beaches! Manuel Antonio is a little more touristy that the other beach towns we have been to and so there are a lot of people trying to sell you things and tempt you into their bars and restuarants.
We also spent a lot of the morning in the sea, it is a lot less rough here in Manuel Antonio and a lot more 'Jen friendly!' The sea is also reeeeally warm and Josh taught me how to 'ride a wave' with my body rather than a surf board! ...I ended up spinning under water and emerging bikini- less! Ha...not so fun!
Tomorrow we plan to explore the national park and hopefully see some more monkies and sloths! As well as lot's more basking in the sunshine and 'riding the waves' in the sea! ...hmm, we'll see!
Adios! x
