Today we were meant to see the Grand Palace and all the tourist attractions but we saw them on our first day here so essentially we had a free day.. So we took the morning at a leisurely pace by starting at around 9. We headed to the tailors by tuk tuk, standard, so a 15 minute drive around the city for less than 2 pounds, just a bargain.... This is were I had my suit fitting on our first day, the material and cut were both perfect once pinned into place, really looking forward to seeing the final piece. We were actually both tempted for more but we resisted...... We then took a taxi to the Banyan Tree, a 5 star high rise hotel in what looks to be the business district of Bangkok, as it looked a little like a poorer mans New York...... Inside was just stunning, very expensive looking, an indoor waterfall and a lady playing a harp like instrument. It just oozed class. We went there just to confirm the booking and I also booked us in at the Vertigo Bar, the roof top restaurant with a complete 360 skyline view of Bangkok.... What a way to end the holiday, neither of us wanted to leave, it just felt soooo special,... Anyway we've got another little holiday before then, so best look forward to Chiang Mai first.... We left the hotel and headed back to the De Moc, our current hotel and had a quick coffee break before heading into the city centre for some shopping... We headed to the local hotspots for some lunch and had a classic American club sandwich, I know!,.... and a vitality fruit smoothie, very tasty!...... All for just £10 bargain....... Once recharged and refuelled we headed down some side streets to find some gifts and stuff for our house,.... One thing that we both found rather strange is that more and more of the shop staff seem to be deaf, not sure if thats legit, or an easy excuse instead of using the language differences one. Either way the best barter of the day came from one of those shops, starting point 1,600 baht down to 750 baht,, or £32 down to £15... I think we did well or were possibly still ripped off, either way we got some good stuff..... We had a couple hours shopping and that was starting to get enough, unless it's tailoring now, it does my head in, lol...... Anyway, once down we headed back to the hotel to get ourselves sorted as its our farewell meal tonight, not only for Bangkok but for the end of the tour as tomorrow everyone disperses to their own destinations,... Sad times, will be gutted not to see them after spending 18 full days together, very much a big brother situation and we got to know all of them so well in such a short time... A quality group to have experienced South East Asia with.,,,... Loved every moment..... Well, we've just finished getting ready and heading out for the last supper!.. Wonder where it will be..... Anyway speak soon,
Actual Moon x x
