Wow! what do I say...
India is INCREDIBLE!!!!!
I'm loving it here. It's like nothing else.
The day in KL on the way was a good stepping stone, but nothing could prepare me for this! The long stopover just made my jetlag even worse - about 8hs sleep in 3 days - I was exhausted when I arrived here in Pushkar.
I stopped overnight in Delhi, then took an early train to Ajmer, then a bumpy bus to Pushkar where I met Vinod, the man who owns the farm where I'm staying. They are very nice people and are looking after me well. I could relax and sleep in away from the craziness in the town.
My first day was just getting used to this place. Learnt alot about being a tourist - what & what not to do. My hands have henna tattoos from the Gypsy women. Its a very interesting mix of camels & cattle, traders, religious people, sellers & tourists out here in the desert. It is quite hot. There are less locals, tourists & camels this year due to the recession, lake being dried up & not as much trading.
Today has been much more enjoyable as I have been wiser and been able to find some peace - up a small mountain, near the lake, here at this netcafe.
I have 3 more days here before I return to Delhi.
It is a bit hard being on my own, but I'm getting used to it :)
