I am now in Jaipur, exhausted (it's been go go go!), after finishing my time volunteering. It was very sad to leave Jhalrapatan - the kids, my Indian friends and the place I could call home for a month. I went here with 3 of my volunteer friends who are great. Gonna miss them!
In the last week in the vlllage we put on a school concert for all the parents (mainly mothers came) to make them proud of their children and show how important school is. And we used the opportunity to talk about hygiene, care of wounds, alcohol & pregnancy etc. It was really good - a little crazy - we have so many kids in the village!! More than 50. They were really cute - wore hats we made and did some songs.
I've been looking around Jaipur (the pink city) for a couple days now. Heaps of history, while still a big, modern city. It is the capital of Rajasthan and has been for a very long time so amazing old walled city. Nearby is the older city of Amber (which has the same colour) and is equally amazing!
Having to deal with over-friendly Indians alot and spending too much money on all the beautiful things here!
I've now got 3 weeks to explore India - no real plans!! Still loving it!
