Ni Hao,
As you can see the chinese lingo is coming along great! So what have we been up to i here you ask!? We'll day one we went to visit the lama temple which is the biggest buddhist temple in Beijing which was cool as it had a 18m wooden buddha in it, a single piece of sandle wood. After meeting the group who all seem very nice getting to know them all, we went to a chinese buffet, in beijing their traditional dish is peking duck (which was amazing!!!!) we ate so much (well daws did) and their sweet and sour was gorgeous, after stuffing ourselves the bill came to a wopping 2 pound 50p each!!!!!!!!! So the food is great and cheap. Day two we started to a trip to the Olympic stadium which was pretty cool, not as big as expected but was great to see! We went inside the birds nest and stood where they collected their medals! Then we headed to a traditional street known as a 'hutong' which was amazing... (you'll love it steph let you know more soon!) After a quick shower we headed out for a kung fu show which was fantastic.. they can kick some butt!!!!! So here we are today, we have just been to Temple of Heaven which includes a huge park where all the locals come and do activities like dancing, ti chi, kite flying etc. Also took a look at the infamous Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City, again very good! But today is the first day the sun has reached through the smog, and it is 35 degree so we are sweating it out, no swimming pool until we head inland to the countryside of China. Meeting some great people and thoroughly enjoying ourselves! Most of the people are heading towards Vietnam therefore, may tag along with us for safety... but we are well into the traveller lifestyle already!
