Hey all,
We are here in Chaing Mai now, we spent two days in Bangkok. I hated evey minute of it, daws thought it wasn't so bad. But it was smelly dirty and not particularly friendly people in comparison to the very friendly Cambodians! So we spent two nights on the infamous Kho San road, which was pretty cool watching the world go by. A huge mixture of different people and different reasons for travelling, and lots of ladyboys! So we headed outta there pretty quickly up to Chiang Mai on another overnight bus.
We arrived in Chiang Mai on Friday morning, then checked out the town which is really nice, restored my faith in the Thai people. Yesterday we both had the most fantastic day. We awoke early, headed to an elephant camp where we saw a baby elephant, which was amazing and then had an hours trek through the jungle. Daws was too fat so he had to sit on the elephants neck and ride it bareback, pretty cool experience.
We then headed through the jungle to the waterful which was stunning, chilled in the sun on the rocks and then on to the white water rafting........ yes it was amazing we both enjoyed ourselves so much. Then a calm bamboo raft down the river (which dawson steered/ few close calls with the trees!) and we then headed to a minority village within the rice paddies. So all in all an amazing day that we both had so much fun on!
Our next few days are going to be tough tomorrow we head for the border towards Laos - a 5hour bus ride followed by a two day slow boat!!!! Yes i am not looking foward to it! I'm sure it will be worth it as we have heard nothing but good things about it.
We have got to speed ourselves up as we are heading back to Bangkok for a trip to the river Kwai before going South for the FULL MOON PARTY! Very excited, check it on the internet - going to be mental!
Well guys we gotta dash again, but sending love as always to you all. P.S Lil Squiter Charlie I have a picture of a real elephant for you on the way! Love and Kisses xxxxxxxxx
