Hello again!
We are now about to start our third day of OzIntro, and so far we have had so much fun!!
On Monday we went back down the quay, where the harbour and bridge are. This time we walked through park gardens, and they looked beautiful. However, our first strange but true fact came from walking through those gardens... did you know, if you wish to jog/ exercise in Australia you need to go to specific "allowed" places, and on top of that you also need a jogging licence!! If you don't do either, you get a fine... how crazy is that!!
Anyway, while walking through the gardens we got the chance to feed some birds... it's amazing how many will fly over to you if your holding bread in your hand... so we had a good time with that while everyone got to feed one and get their picture taken... ill upload mine soon.
After that we went over to the main harbour, took some more photos and then went jet boating. Unfortunately with us being with OzIntro there was a no poncho rule... which meant we were soaked by the time got back off the boat. None of us seemed to mind though as it was a great laugh and so hot that we kinda needed a bit of a cool down.
After we had been showered and cleaned up we went for our first group meal, it was fun and we had some really nice food. After that we all headed down to the beach to chill out and watch the sun go down... however we didn't achieve this as the sun sets in the opposite direction... oh well!
Yesterday was surf day, a day where we would go to a deserted beach and make complete fools of ourselves without anyone watching... erm, maybe not! Yesterday was also Australia day, so we had every man and woman in Sydney watching us from the beach, as they sat, drank beers, ate food and laughed at us for most of the afternoon! It was fun though, I didn't get to stand up but I did get to ride the waves while sitting on my knees... an achievement I am pretty proud of! We all looked incredibly sexy too, bikini bottoms and bright red rash vests. Long sleeve vests may I add, one which left us with burnt hands, faces and heads as that was the only part on the top of our body that was visible to the sun! I also burnt the backs of my legs... which are very sore this morning! So for the next few days I will be sporting 3 quarters and a hat... very flashing!!
With it being Australia day, there was a harbour cruise that we all got tickets too. It was a really good evening, as we stayed on the boat for 3-4 hours, watched some (crappy) fireworks (We were all expecting new year fireworks, let me assure you, I could have got a box of fireworks and done a better job) and then we went off to the side bar, which is attached to one of Sydney's biggest and best known hostels.. Wake Up (we are hoping to stay here for a few days next week). In the bar they had a live band playing lots of cover songs and then we had a DJ throwing out pretty much every sing along song you can think of, imp surprised any of us can speak this morning! During this night out we were all given an experience that I'm sure none of us will forget, and this was the Oz Party Bus. It is simply just a bus with flashing lights, and a very loud sound system but add way too many people, some classic tunes and you do very much have a party... it was funny watching the people outside as we drove past!
Today we are heading into the office to sort out travel and work details and then we are due to head out to lunch before hitting the aquarium. It should be a good day, and today I'm actually thankful it's overcast and quite cool!!
Check in soon xx
