Hello!!

Well i have arrived safe and well!

Its our third day in Oz and after two full days of sunshine and humidity, it is now raining... its nice to know that the rain follows you whereever you go!

We arrived at 7.15am on friday morning, after arriving at the hostel we found out that we couldnt check in till 10.30, so we had a brief walk around, went and got our welcome packs and then returned to shower and get ready for the day ahead. We spent the rest of the day on the beach and decided we would go out to the local bar on the corner... i really dont understand how anyone can afford to go out drinking every night here. They sell smirnoff ice in a can over here, and they also charge $10 for it, thats £7... for one drink, i nearly fell of my chair. I was on water for the rest of the night, though to be fair that was not very long as we were all back at the hostel at 8.30pm and were pretty much out for the count!

Yesterday we decided to go into the city as it was far too warm to do anything else, 32 degrees at 8am, and it went into the mid 40s later in the day... HOT! So we headed down to the harbour, it was a surreal moment, i think it was at that moment we realised that we are actually here... especially when we saw the opera house! I have to say... when you see it up close, its not all that... needs a bit of a clean! After we returned we went and did our first shop... i feel like a student again, getting all the home brand cheap stuff!

After the night before, we decided to get some cheap drink in and just have a small gathering in the hostel... GOOOOON!! (Goon is the ozzie word for cheap wine) I didnt drink Goon, im not fan of wine and after seeing those that did this morning im glad i didnt! It was a good night, we even seen our first spider... it must have felt famous with the amount of people taking photos of it. It was a huntsman and was probably the size of the palm of my hand... scary!

Today is pretty much a chill day, we are also booking our tickets for the cruise for Australia day on Tuesday... should be a good night, one which will call for us all to dress up and make fools of ourselves im sure!
