Aloha!!
So after the long bus & boat journey....(well not too long really) I ended up in Koh Tao! Its the smallest of the three islands of the east coast of Thailand and its absolutely gorgeous! I stepped off the boat and a tropical storm hit! Darn it! That Crowded House song popped in my head..."everywhere you go, always take the weather with you!" but it was still really hot! I got a taxi...well i say taxi, it was a pick up truck and you sit in the back and roll around in it till you get to your destination! Ha ha! Got taxi from Mae Haad Pier to Sairee Village, got some breakfast cos i was hungry (and also to take shelter from the rain) got speaking to a guy called Ross from Brighton, he said that he was leaving today but said he'd show me where he stayed as it was just on the beach, perfect! I fell in love with this little hut on stilts as soon as i saw it, and took it straightaway! It was literally 10 steps if that to the beach woohoo! There were maybe about 10-12 of these little huts all ran by a little old lady who i dont think was all there, a bit doolally! She just looked at us really confused for ages when i asked to look at the hut and when i said i wanted she just stared again....so i gave her the money and off she toddled, didnt take my name, no details nothing! Aaaahh, the thai's, gotta love 'em! I dumped my stuff, got the bikini out and jumped straight in the sea - was really blue and clear, you could see lil fishys swimming around your ankles which freakde me out a little at first but ya get used to em! So Monday was when i arrived there and all ive done is chill out on the beach in the day, reading my book and napping and then havin a few drinks at night :) Koh Tao is THE island to do PADI diving courses, but i wasnt really up for doing one...never know may change my mind but not right now, so theres not much to do apart from relax...which was fine by me!! The weathers been great, but there keeps being little storms which last for an hour max then its all hot n sunny again :) i went in the sea while it was absolutely chucking it down, much fun! Ate at a restaurant called The King Crab Restaurant which has no fixed abode, but they pop up along the beach with their catches of the day displayed on ice.....best fish i think ive ever eaten, i had Blue Marlin mmmm tasty! Wednesday night after eating there i went to the Vibe Bar with fred and lounged about drinkin cocktails and playin cards, met an Aussie bloke called Nem who was really nice, we chatted to him bout everythin n anythin!
Today (thursday) decided to move on to somewhere else so headed off to get a boat ticket to Koh Samui, only took an hour and a half so nice speedy journey! Booked into a place called Silver Sands which is nice, similar little beach hut to before but set a bit further back from the beach. Just eaten at a place called The Three Monkeys mmmm, i had Pad Thai with Prawns tasty! They lured me in cos they've got free internet! Amazing! First impressions of this island.....im not too keen to be honest but i shall explore properly tomorrow in the light of day and i may change my mind, theres also a beach party on tomorrow so we'll see how that goes :)
Hope everyone is well back home xx really starting to miss you guys now (sob sob)
