We just spent the last week on Gili Trawangan relaxing and soaking up the sun. It was super hot while we were there and you literally had to run from your towel to the ocean or you'd burn your feet on the black speckled sand. We stayed at a nice guest house called the Keraton owned by a Brit and his Indo wife. He made us breakfast every morning and their 5 year old son provided some good entertainment when we wanted to sit out on our patio, as did the numerous cats with the weirdest meows! I think there are more cats then people on this non motorized island. Speaking of, we were nearly trampled to death by a runaway horse one morning while walking to the beach. Its crazy how fast 7 days goes by when the days are so uneventful. On our last day we didn't even make it to the beach and instead decided to catch up on some drinking...I think it's safe to say we are well caught up now. Ohh we also found somewhere that knew how to make Thai style curry!! We were so happy and ate it every night till we left! After another fun night out partying with some locals and a few hours of sleep we said goodbye to Gili T and headed back to Bali on one the scariest boat ride ever...I've never seen waves that high! Once we got back to Bali we made our way back to the same guesthouse and checked into an air conditioned room and slept off the rest of our hangovers. Although the a/c was nice, it only reminds us of what the dry Canadian climate is going to do to our poor skin in just a couple of short weeks!
Now we sit in the jack-a-rat( as Cynthia likes to call it) airport where people continue to stare at our bare legs like we are aliens. Also as we sat reading waiting to go through customs some man sat down beside Karli and tried to sell her alligator skin....pretty sure that's illegal and gross. The countdown is on as we depart to our final stop.... Country number 7 here we come!
