We knew our flight to Bali departed at 3:20, but for some reason we thought we'd get to the gate by 3:20... so there we were in some cafe sipping our coffee's, taking our sweet ass time when we looked at the clock to see it was 3:15, and casually said "we should probably get going" As we started to make our way to the gate we hear "Canadians? Bali? Denpasar?" We look at the guy and say "yeah, that's us!" He grabs his radio and says "run!" the 3 of us lightly sprint all the way to the gate with the rest of the gate crew saying, "you're lucky" as we quickly flash our passports and board the plane. After we landed we made our way to a hotel for one night and decided to find something cheaper in the morning. The next morning we found a little bit cheaper of a place to stay with a pool and headed for the beach only to find it covered in garbage! It's no lie that we've become beach snobs, but it truly was very disappointing to see. We couldn't even bring ourselves to go in the water because the garbage was so thick. I know the run off can be bad in some parts and some locals said it was because of the rain but for the next two days we were happy to cheat on the ocean and sand to lounge by the pool :) Although, when we went to watch the sunset tonight it seemed to have been cleaned up a lot since the first day, so that's good. Neither one of us is very good at math so whenever we get to a new country it usually takes us a few days to get the hang of the new currency and conversion...just when we start to get the hang of one we are off to the next! (which would explain the $30 we spent on sunscreen! Grrr)The trip is sadly coming to an end and our money is starting to run very low, but that didn't stop us from getting a few things from the market. On more than one occasion we have been told that the two of us look alike. The other day someone said "twins!" Maybe it's just our golden brown tans that are similar. I like to joke and tell people that Cynthia's my mother sometimes(which luckily for Cynthia no one believes). We wanted to do some surfing here but the garbage was too much, so hopefully we will have better luck on the Gili islands. Bye for now. Missing you all! C&K
