Today we stepped aboard "The Boomerang" maxi sailing boat. This was the type of boat you would see sailing in the round the world races. It actually won the Maxi sailing competition during the 1989-1990 racing season. It was a pretty cool looking boat and the crew on board were great. We set sail and as the ship only runs with a skelaton crew the passengers are encouraged to help with some of the easier sailing duties, like putting up the sail. Once the sail was up the boat would lean right over to one side so we had to make sure and position ourselves on the high side of the boat or we would get very wet. The itinerary is very flexible and is very much weather dependent but as the weather was good we got the chance to do yet more snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef. We stopped at a few different locations to snorkel and enjoy the sights of the islands. One place we stopped was called Whitehaven beach and it is rated in the top five beaches of the world. The sand is the purest sand found anywhere in the world and is ninty nine percent pure. We took a short walk up to a look out point over the beach to get a good view of the whole beach and the view was very spectacular indeed. After all the photo's were taken we then went and spent a couple of hours on the beach. However the wind had picked up and as we lay on the beach because the sand is so pure and fine we were getting covered in sand, and slowly getting buried alive. Staying on the boat was quite an experience as everybody is in a small bunk with not a lot of room to move about. I think Kirsty and I must have banged our heads off the roof twenty times every day. After the first night below deck in the sweltering heat I decided to sleep up on deck under the stars, as it was cooler up there. However the rain set in and I had to make a quick retreat back below deck into the heat. The food they served on the boat was first class and the crew catered to everybodies needs well and Kirsty and I had a really great time. After we got back on land the company had booked a table for us at one of the local bars to celebrate and relax with all the other passengers. So after a nice long hot shower everybody was pampered and ready for a good night out. We did still feel like we were 'swaying' when we got back on land which was rather worrying! As there were no real showers on the boat everybodies first words were "how good was your shower??!". It was funny as we had only been without a proper shower for two days. We had a great night chatting and was a good way to end the trip.

Today we left Arlie Beach and got back on the bus to head further down the coast to Bundaberg. The trip took twelve hours so our full day was spent travelling on the greyhound bus :(. After the long bus trip we arrived late at night into Bundaberg, so we checked in then passed out as we were both so tired.
