Sadly we said good bye to Fiji but G'day to Australia today. The flight over was fine however we did have a bit of trouble at immigration. The sniffer dog sniffed chris's bag and we were pulled to the side and chris's bag was searched. The immigration woman was amazed at the amount of clothes that was in his rucksack. After a thorough search and a lot of questioning they let us through! Im convinced it was chris's dirty washing that the dog sniffed out as its sooooo smelly!!! We jumped in a taxi and arrived at our friend Ashlee's house. Ashlee arrived home and after the excited hello's were exchanged we went out for a nice dinner and a catch up. So it was a very chilled and relaxed night.

Kirsty and I took a trip on the City Cat today, which is a boat that travels along Brisbane River, it was pretty cool. We went into the city for a walk round and to explore what Brisbane has to offer. We picked up a Christmas hat as Ashlee was hosting a wee Christmas party at night. At night lots of Ashlee's and her other house mates friends arrived for the party and it was really nice to meet them all and get to know them. The party was very good and everybody enjoyed themselves, dancing and having fun late into the night.

Today we went to Australia Zoo. This is the zoo owned by Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter). The zoo was fantastic with all sorts of animals, lizards, and bugs. We got to see a variety of shows including bird, snake, and crocodile shows. We got the chance to feed some Kangaroo's and Wallabies and it was amazing to get so close to these animals and pet them. At the beginning Kirsty was a little scared to get close but once she fed the first wallabie there was no stopping her. We then went and watched the Koala show with the keeper telling us so much information about Australia's national icon. We even got a chance to pet the Koala and it was so soft like a teddy bear. We then walking round the zoo looking at the Dingos, Koalas, Elephants, Snakes, various birds and the cutest Wambats we have ever seen. There was a mummy Wambat that had had a baby called Wendy and it was the funniest and cutest little thing ever. We both wanted to just pick her up and take her home. After that we went and saw the final show of the day, The Croc show! The keeper jumped in the enclosure with a 16 foot crocodile that was huge. He stood right at the edge of the water and tempted the croc out with a chicken to eat. The croc came out and chased the keeper across the enclosure which was cool. He then got it to jump for more food before letting it go back in the water and answer any questions we had. It was then home time for a relaxed night watching movies.

As there weather was so bad for these days Kirsty and I were house bound as we didn't want to go out and get soaked. We did manage to catch up on some movie time and write more of the blog, which was good. We did however go to the cinema on the sunday to watch the new Harry Potter film. It was very good but it was a little dark and scary in bits.

Finally the sun came out today so Kirsty and I took full advantage of it and headed into the city to meet some friends we had met in Fiji that were in Brisbane. We went for some lunch then chilled out on the roof top catching up with them and hearing about the various adventures they had been on since leaving Fiji. It was really good to see them all and we even decided we would travel down the east coast to Sydney together in time for Christmas and New Year.

Today we went into the city centre to meet our friends from Fiji again and we headed to the lagoon (man made beach) in the middle of the city. It is very cool but a bit weird to be sitting on the sand looking at all the high rise buildings in the city. It was such a nice day Kirsty and I enjoyed a lovely ice drink in the sun. We then went back to our friend Ashlee's house. The girls went to the gym for some zumba and I was out running. We then had a last meal with Ashlee and her flatmates before we start our road trip. We had a lovely indian meal with cake and ice-cream for desert it was tasty.
