Right so this is my first Blog, ever. I think I will try and write these everyweek so any of you who want to see how my work is going can follow it online. It has been a busy but good week this week.

My flight got in at about 4.40 on sunday evening and I eventually made it back to the apartment at about 6.30, there was a mix up with the actual apartment I was staying in which caused a bit of delay. I pretty much did all my unpacking on sunday as I am waiting for my air delivery which has most of my stuff.

The apartment is very nice, as you can see from the photos its quite big. I have breakfast included. You get the usual food but everything here includes rice, so if you really want you can have sweet and sour chicken with rice for breakfast.

I went in a bit late to work and attended some training and starting to get going with the project that I am working on. My computer isnt quite working that well but should be sorted in the next week. I will try and get some pics of the work building this week. DB is based in Fort Bonifacio which is like a new development and takes about 15mins if no traffic. Though as some of you may have seen a tv programme on bbc the other week, Manila is one of the most densely populated cities in the world, so generally there is traffic!

Everyone eats out here (well the westerners) and there is a lot of western restaurants including Macdonalds and KFC. There is also LOTS on shopping in Makati City where I live, but a lot is high end shops, its called the greenbelt. There is also Glorietta, these are massive complexes with several malls and cinemas etc.

This weekend I went to the red light district because there is a really nice resturant there. I didn't really go down the major street but it is famous for the lady and midget wrestling.

Today is sunday and I went to Legazpi market for a wander with some of the other expats, and going to maybe go to a shopping mall this afternoon for a wander. The weather is hot, maybe about 28 degrees, you cant really walk for too long outside as it is really hot. Saying that I am enjoying it at the moment.

I am also going to try and plan lots of trips whilst here, there is loads to see and do but its best to do it before monsoon season (July-Sept).

Oh and I did see a fight in one of the bars near working, it was nothing majoy and they were actually westerners, punching and throwing chairs. Security are very slow here. It did result in a free meal for me as the cash resgister got broken all of the action so I won't complain.

I am going to try and move closer to work as its easier than getting the taxi everyday, the place where I live is in the hub of the business district but it will be much easier living closer and there are so many new apartments being built.

Anyway, going to take a trip to a different mall so will be back on the blog next week. Im not very good at writing these things so its more of a diary of whats been going on.
