Monday; Day 7! Originally thinking I might get a chance to rest today, I realise how silly it was to even contemplate that idea as today actually marks a very exiting day; my two school friends Georgia and Chloe (no, I'm not talking 3rd person!) have arrived from Adelaide and we are catching up!!! They are having a couple of days in London staying with Chloe's Uncle and family before they begin a months Contiki Tour around Europe! (lucky ducks!) We didn't plan to be in London at the same time but after booking my flights only 6 weeks before I left for England, we noticed that we would be crossing paths!!! I have known Georgia since Year 8 and Chloe since I first arrived in Australia in Year 5. Excited to see them, I walk past St Pauls, cross the Millenium Bridge and then there they were, waiting for me waving frantically at the bottom! Slightly romantic really :p and it felt like I hadn't seem them in months!!
It's quite surreal being on the other side of the world with two of your longest friends but nevertheless we spend the whole day sightseeing and enjoying a grand tour with thanks to Chloe's Uncle Harry! We walk along South Bank following the river and later on we meet up with Chloe's cousin, Alex and head to a pub called the Wheatsheaf to watch the game. (World Cup)
Discussing travels and being filled in on all the goss from back home, it was nice to have familiar faces around me. This is probably the first time I feel completely comfortable and let my guard down since I have arrived. Definitely a nice change but don't worry, I'm still aware of my surroundings (Mum!!!) We grab dinner at Nando's, which is much yummier, popular and better quality than in Australia, before I catch a couple of tubes and walk home.
Tomorrow I will meet Georgia and Chloe in Oxford st after they have shopped their socks off and we will head over to Notting Hill where I have been dying to go for over a year and a half...only because of the movie but it hardly matters :p Notting Hill - watch it if you haven't or if you're a Julia Roberts / Hugh Grant fan!
Lots of laughs, food, football and good company today, it's been amazing.
Muchas Gracias London y buenos noches!
