Day 3 in London and I am greeted by an old friend who has just traveled 3 hours down from the Midlands to see me. This guy is more like a brother to me as he is one of my own brothers closest friends and has known me since I was 3! This guy goes by the name of Tom. Tom Brown. Someone who is a true friend and obviously goes out of their way for people, like to see lil old me :)
We head to breakfast at this super cool urban kinda place called Feast on the Hill and indulge; salmon with poached eggs on English muffins and a coffee for Tom and gourmet muesli with fruit, yoghurt and a latte for me. With our belly's full and a good catch up we decide to jump in his car and head to the Camden Markets at Camden Lock. A really busy tourist attraction full of food markets, clothing, souvenirs and some of that good old tacky fake stuff! The food was incredible and from every region of the world you could imagine. Most of the stalls even let you sample their specialities so you end up walking out of their pretty satisfied and for free lol!
Apparently these markets are even better as well on the weekends...
We cruise around, watching the narrowboats go in and out of the Camden Lock gates before heading back to Muswell Hill to say ta-ra (goodbye) to Tom as he began another 3 hours of driving back up to the Midlands!
I return to the apartment and jump on Skype for a scheduled video call with this family from Seville in southern Spain who I have been talking to over the past weeks to potentially go and nanny for them throughout the Summer. Not something I have been talking about much just incase it didn't happen but after about half an hour of chatting and finishing where we had left off from, it is very official that I will be heading there on the 8th of July!!!!!! So so so excited!! I'll be looking after FOUR children haha and helping them learn English amongst the usual nannying duties. Extremely blessed and so spontaneous as well - not something I had been planning but just looking at as an option while traveling :) And there couldn't have been anywhere more perfect than Spain as it's where I've been multiple times throughout my life with my family. My Grandad, Aunty and Uncle have been living there too for the last 9 years, I have been learning Spanish back home in Adelaide, and have a Spanish tattoo on the side of my waist from when I was in Spain last October for my Grandad's 90th birthday! Feeling very blessed and fortunate that's for sure...
Solo Traveling Tip No.3: Always have a guideline of where you want to go, what you want to do and when, but keep your options open, go with the flow and try not to plan too far in advance as plans can (if not, always) change and opportunities can just spring up out of nowhere and suddenly open a new door for you!..
In the evening Talieh, Natalia and I get to chill back as they are usually both out until super late in the week and we get spoilt to a rather fancy dinner cooked by Natalia which tasted absolutely amazing! A nice time to just sit back and be with them on my last night in Muswell Hill. I think I'll definitely be returning here one day though!..
