Before resuming our trek north, we bird in the large city park of Temuco at dawn before breakfast, managing to see a couple of shy species, but getting some good views of the noisy Slender-billed Parakeets with their long hooked bills. Today is supposed to be warmer, but there is no sun and a soft mist this morning for another travel day. The landscape brightens though as we pass fields yellow with rape, used to make canola oil.
After lunch in the town of Los Angeles, hills creep back into the landscape, there is a beautiful waterfall, some vineyards, and at last! the snow capped mountains are back to the east of us. We end the day at the base of mountains in a ski resort area, Termas de Chillan. We each have a cabin, connected by boardwalks over a dry marsh with budding lupine. Old fashioned wooden hot tubs languish alongside. At last, we stay here for two nights, making laundry easier. A consequence of covering a lot of ground in a country is packing up and leaving each morning. But we have multiple night stays now for the rest of the trip.

Cathy Enjoy the rest and jump in that hot tub in your cabin setting among the Lupine. Sounds great!
Suzi Unfortunately the hot tub is not functioning.
Cathy Closed last week. BIG moving day tomorrow!
