Ready to leave the hotel after a early sunbathing session! We're about to get a ferry over to paradise- koh lanta!
We were meant to wake up at 8 and ended up waking up at 9 but this time it was through no fault of our own as the alarm clock didn't go off! But as we had packed the night before there wasn't much to do except for go and catch some last minute sun by the pool!
The we had some breakfast where chloe opted for the healthy option of toast and fruit and missing my fry ups I had bacon, 2 fried eggs and toast- delicious!! We then went and got everything out of the room and checked out! We then hopped in a taxi and went to Rassada pier where we would be catching our ferry to koh lanta!
It was quite busy here but there were more Europeans around rather than Thai. We had a short wait and chloe sorted out all of tickets! We spent a good 30mins people watching before we got onto the ferry- babies everywhere!
We managed to be one of the first lots of people getting on the ferry as we managed to push our way to the front and we got a seat! After sitting and watching other people struggle to get a seat chloe had a peak upstairs see what it was like up there. After saying people were just sitting around, we decided to go up!
It was boiling!! We were about to sit down until we found out that the floor was boiling hot as well, but luckily chloe had her blanket so we both sat on that. It felt like such a long time waiting for the ferry to start. It wasn't helped by the fact that there was no breeze and the midday sun was beaming down on us (thank god for factor 50)!! But eventually the ferry did start and brought with it a lovely breeze so we decided to lay back and relax. The top deck did seem like the right decision though with all of the incredible views of islands around us.
Next to us we had some very drunk what seemed like Russians drinking whisky from the bottle- not the most attractive thing I must say. Then 2 men and a woman in front started talking to us and they were Americans and had been working in Singapore and decided to take a quick 48 hour trip to look around Phi Phi! As I had been there before I was giving them a few pointers as to what is worth it in the short space of time they had. One of them was absolutely gorgeous and from California. Unfortunately they thought we were older than 19 (which is understandable about chloe, but I'm only 5ft and even my dad thinks I look about 15)! But I can definitely seeing myself living in California after meeting him- girls think of the men from 90210!
It was very tight catching our next ferry! But we eventually ended up on a smaller ferry to lanta, but this time we opted to sit inside as we were all sunned out! Men were coming round asking everyone where they were staying to see if they needed a taxi! When we told people where we were staying they all raised their eyebrows, we weren't sure what they meant by that.
When we eventually got to the pier we were very very hot! But we grabbed a tuk tuk after I may have shouted at a few taxi drivers to get out of my way- I was hot and had a heavy bag, that means grumpy cherry! This was the first tuk tuk we had taken in Thailand which is very strange, but it definitely won't be our last!! It was a very short trip to the hotel so to get back I think we would walk!
After arriving we realized why there were so many raised eyebrows- it was sooo nice- how did we book all of these amazing places for so little? We were greeted by a cold glass of orange juice which was definitely needed and had high expectations for our room- and we were not let down!
After settling in a bit we decided to do some washing! I went first and all went very well, that was until I was putting it on the clothes horse to dry. I was rinsing them over the balcony and somehow managed to drop a pair of pants off the side. Some of you may be thinking, just climb over and get them back- not as easy as that, as our view is forest. I climbed over and was rummaging around and finally felt material so pulled, covered in all sorts of vegetation, I decided to wash it again and climbing back over wasn't fun either! All the time chloe just laughed- very helpful girl!! Them chloe did her washing, much less eventful it has to be said.
After having some quick showers we decided to go have a look in town and have some dinner! We found a restaurant that seemed very busy so must be good- it had food from around the world but again we opted for Thai. We both had noodles in a soya sauce with chicken and a drink and it only came to 100 baht (around £2)- bargain!!!
Then we thought we better have a little look around the shops and the market!! Very busy and many people were trying to get us to buy stuff but as we didn't brining that much money- we didn't! But there are plenty more nights to do that!!
After shopping for 3 hours, we decided to call it a night and came home and went straight to sleep after a long day!!
15th January
So today we woke up to the most amazing breakfast!! Waffles, fruit and yogurt (for me) and cherry went for bacon, eggs and waffles (healthy!) as if it couldn't get any better- we had the most phenomenal views over the pool and turquoise sea. (Thinking of you all at home..)
We quickly went to get a sunbed after breakfast we were shocked to see that there were NO sunbeds left! Everyone had literally 'bagsied' beds and then b*****ed off! So there were so many empty sunbeds which we couldn't use! Lesson of the day... Set our alarm earlier and beat the Swedish to it!
Despite the lack of sunbeds, we popped our towels on the grass and enjoyed the sun! We stayed there until it got too hot! When it got to about midday we ventured out onto the beach, the white sand and clear water was just incredible, something you definitely don't see in Poole harbour! On the beach there are thousands (and I mean thousands) of these creepy clear crabs. They all just scurry around, they are all different sizes and they made me incredibly jumpy. I do not like them!! But, it's one of those things I will have to get used to! Cherry started stomping her feet trying to make them sidestep faster, it was very funny to watch. We went into the sea which was more of a warm bath! It was crystal clear you could see all the tiny little fish swimming away from us!
We went back to the pool, I got very burnt- never been this burnt before!! Cherry literally sat in the water all afternoon. While I got engrossed in my book, Miranda harts autobiography! If you ever want a funny book to read definitely worth a read- I was sat at the pool laughing and giggling to myself with a coconut (yummy!)
We went for dinner at a restaurant right by the pier called the black pearl (the picture of Johnny Depp drew us in easily!!) we had Thai food again which was nice, but over priced. Having said that our meals combined came to about £6.50. After supper we went back to the market! I bought a channel watch (100% genuine- as my granny says- chloe doesn't do fake!!!) we also went and bought some bags, Prada for cherry and mulberry for my mum and myself.
When we returned to the hotel we FaceTimed Jakie-D! This was good up until he thought it was a good idea to do an Asian accent.. This would have been fine had it been private, but oh no. We were in the lobby, with lots of Asian people. We got looks from the hotel staff so we decided to turn him down and let him have his fun without offending anyone else.
All in all today has resulted with Cherry getting a bit of colour!!!! And me... Well I'm a tad red! But we are happy and looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
