Shop shop shop til ya drop day. A little early cuz I still have 9 days to lug it around but I had a free day so I went shopping in town at the local market. Having major problems getting local currency since I'm here on the weekend and the atms only take visa (mine are all mc). Had to exchange on the strret which is a little risky but what do ya do....I tried all the bank atms first. Shopping was great and I bought way too much. Tony will like his best I think. The vendors are pretty pushy but friendly enough. Everyone wants a cigarette and after the first 5 or so I finally started saying "no". Prices are much higher here than in South Africa so I probably should have waited but...what the hell. Early morning spent most of my time trying to get reservations. I fyou think dial-up is slow...... They have wireless here but it takes about 5 min to get to a page sometimes. I did get my room here for the next 3 nights booked at a lodge nearby and also my flight back to Jo'burg. I lost connection after entering cc info for my flight to cape town so I gave up. The lodge got my helicopter AND elephant safari booked for tomorrow so it should be a good day. Tonight I went on a dinner sunset cruise (booze cruise). It was nice. Quite a few people who were taking a break from their "Cairo to Cape Town" bike ride. Thought Trevor might like hearing about this. 4 months and 6,000 miles so far! Another month and roughly 1,000 to go! Quite amazing. Some are racing, some are just riding and some are staff. Wide range of people from every country imaginable. Big day tomorrow so I should try to get sleep.
