just spent 3 days in byron bay, it was amazing! the sand on the beach is so pure and white it squeeks when you walk on it, the sea was warm and clear and the weather was awesome. stayed in a cool hostel just by the beach, met loads of cool people and generally had a fabulous time. managed to wangle a completely free night the other evening when two aussie guys we met from brisbane in our hostel offered to buy us all our drinks after we told them we werent plannig on going out cos we were so broke! score!! did a bit of surfing and just genrally lazed about on the beach. Yesterday we met up with an old frind called laura who laura and i were friends with at primary school who moved out to oz when we were 7. we've staying in touch since and it was so cool to see her again. we went up to the lighthouse at byron, the most easterly point in oz and the veiws from the top were awesome - just sooo much sea!! and there were whales jumping about and it was complete paradise! cam eback to laura's house for the night in tamborine, just inland from brisbane, where i am now. had a good catch up and a real laugh, its like we've never been apart! off up to hervey bay soon, where we're doing a 3 day 4x4 tour of fraser island whcih is meant to be immense, then off to sail the whitsundays for 3 days. cant bloody wait!! hope everyones well, keep in touch, lots of love xxxxx
