Time to dive!
We were up at 5am this morning. Soo tired, we didn't get a good night sleep again even though we moved to a private room. There must have been a heat wave because it was boiling. Our fan isn't very strong which doesn't help. I refuse to wear anything less than full length leggings and a long sleeve top to protect me from the mozzies at night. There's hundreds of them here and they are huge! I squished one which made a big red blood splat on the wall, I squished another and the blood was blue! They don't seem to be bothered by our Avon Skin So Soft Dry Oil. It's worked everywhere else in he world but not here. For some reason they don't bite Chris but they love me. So full clothing it is and very strong after bite to help deal with the itching afterwards.
So we had an early night and got off to sleep pretty quickly, but then at around 1:30am we were woken up by a girl staying in the room next to us banging on her door to get in. That was it then, we couldn't get back off to sleep.
We had to be up early today to find out if Chris could go diving with me this morning. Chris told Chloe last night he definitely wanted to come and assumed she would put his name down, he didn't realise he had to go put it down himself. Luckily he was allowed to add on, although the instructor in the office wasn't happy about it. Making obvious huffing and puffing noises and having ago at him for not letting them know yesterday. There's something up with that woman, everytime we saw her she was in a bad mood and snapping at someone. She needs a good...............pampering ;-)
We had two dives each, the first was a deep dive down to 30 meters and the second was fish identification. She gave us all eggs to take down on the deep dive to show us that when we break the egg at that depth the yolk in the middle would stay whole and we could pat it about like a ball. Me and Chris sneakily drew a scared face on our egg which made everyone burst out laughing when we surprised them with it at the bottom. We were also tested to see if we would feel the effects of oxygen narcosis (feeling drunk) at that depth. Me and Chris didn't feel anything but one of the lads in the group, Jordan said he felt very giggly and the egg thing made it worse lol.
Chloe didn't come out with us on our second dive, she put us in our pairs and let us go down on our own. I had to be in charge of the dive, I had to lead the way and make sure we didn't get lost, go down too deep, stay down passed our maximum bottom time and complete our safety stop correctly. I had to take down some cards displaying all the different types of sea creatures I might see and try to point out which ones we saw. We saw almost everything on the cards. I had to also find an example of a creature protecting another creature. This was to make us look at what was happening on the coral up close and to see it in detail rather than whole. I really liked this dive.
When we got back on the boat Chris stuffed his face with tea and biscuits. The two guys had completed the course so it was time to have a few beers and celebrate. I have to wait until I complete my night dive tomorrow night before I finish the course, but we will still go for some beers :-)
