Feeling hot hot hot!

We have arrived in sunny Koh Tao today. The sun is shining in the bright blue sky and is inviting us out to play.......but we are hiding in the shade instead :-(

After a very wet Monday we took full advantage of the sun and beach yesterday. We were pretty impressed with our white bits until we woke up this morning feeling very sore and glowing bright red. Oh yes we are burnt baby!

We didn't do much other than sunbathe yesterday and neither of us were suffering from the whiskey the night before. Highlight of the day (for Chris) was when a cat jumped on my back and bit me leaving four puncture wounds on the back of my arm which is now bruised. b**** cat!

The ferry over to Koh Tao was smooth sailing. Everyone rushed to sit on the deck at the front of the boat. We were inside watching them bath in the sun. I was a bit jealous until the boat started to hit the waves and everyone came running in soaking wet lol! We have also learned that we will get a better price on transport if we get our own taxi to ports and bus stations ect. I guess i should already know that having been a travel agent before, everyone is on commission. So we won't be booking through travel centres anymore if we can help it.

While we were on board we were offered a great accommodation and diving package. We are staying at the Big Blue Diving Resort in a six bedded shared bathroom dorm. The dorm comes standard with A/C and so far the guys (yes only guys in the room) seem cool. The room is clean except for the large earth worm I found on the bathroom floor as I walked in lol.

Tomorrow we will look at the diving options and decide on what we will book. The accommodation is 200bht each per night and free on the days we dive. It looks like a really lively area with loads of bars and clubs! We have been invited out tonight but I think we will save our money for the full moon party on the 7th. Oh yeah we originally booked our accommodation on Koh Phanang from the 8th before realising the other day we got the date mixed up. But all sorted now, we called J.B Huts and added on the extra nights so now we are staying from the 5th instead.

We might have a couple of drinks tonight and chill out tomorrow. Hopefully our sun burn will have gone down by then.
