It was a little bit noisy last night but we were tired and managed to sleep through it. One of the guys working in our hostel was sleeping in our dorm room and didn't wake up to his really annoying alarm so I had to go over and wake him up myself! lol.
Once we were up we got dressed and took a walk into town to find a travel shop. The town was really small so it wasn't hard to find one, in fact there was only one, Tribal Travel. We already knew which tours we wanted to go on, one of them was called Cast Away. A pilot takes a few people over to a secluded bay and leaves them there for the night in a camp with very basic facilities. We weren't interested in spending the night though, we just wanted to go on the flight! We heard that the pilot performs a few stunts in the air which are apparently really fun and scary. Besides we've done enough camping on beaches!
We spoke to an agent and found out that the pilot does offer flight only trips! Perfect! Chris wanted to know what kind of stunts he does before booking. Lucky for us the pilot was on his way to the office so we went for lunch and waited around for him.
We got barramundi and chips to share from the fish and chip shop, it was huge and so nice! We waited at a table and kept our eyes on the shop so we wouldn't miss the pilot. Then suddenly a guy appeared at our table dressed in a pilots uniform, we knew it was him straight away and he knew we were waiting for him. He introduced himself as Bruce and told us a bit about his flight. We were sold straight away and went back to the shop to book up for tomorrow morning. It only cost us $95 each which I think is really good. It's something neither of us have done before so we're both really excited about it.
Before we headed back to the hostel we took another walk around the shops. I found a pair of sandals which were just like the ones i've had since we started our trip. I've worn them almost every single day, they have been through the sea, trekked up hills, climbed over a (small) mountain, partied all night long and helped me shop till I dropped! They are pretty knackered now and have split. The shop assistant was wearing the exact same ones as my old ones. She wasn't impressed when I told her how well they have lasted for six months, she said she had hers for four years and they still looked brand new! She told me off for putting them through so much. I was sad to replace them, Chris had to throw them in the bin outside for me lol.
We got back to the hostel and sat in the tv room on huge comfy sofas. We watched a bit of tv then packed our bags so they were ready for the morning. We would still have to spend a few hours on the beach tomorrow so needed swim stuff ect.
Later in the evening we bumped into Judith from our Fraser Island tour! She was looking for a job in a hostel where she could work for her accommodation. I warned her about the manager here and how rude and loud he was. I didn't have to tell her much though, he was walking up and down the hostel still shouting at people, guests and staff! He made my skin crawl!
We sat up for a while chatting and ate dinner from the hostel again. Afterwards the chef made chocolate, caramel, syrup, cream, banana and cinnamon Crepes right in front of us! It was funny watching a line of only girls come up for the crepes. Me and Judith couldn't resist one but they looked so naughty! So we shared one. Chris was stronger than me and refused to give in. I could see in his eyes how badly he wanted some though. He really missed out, they were so good!
We went back into the tv room to watch a film and wait for the noise in the garden to quieten down. We couldn't be bothered to stay up and drink tonight, especially when we will he thrown about in a plane tomorrow! Yay!
