Last nights party went great and it was the perfect ending to our Fraser Island tour before we all had to go our separate ways. Surprisingly we didn't have much of a hangover this morning after drinking so much goon and vodka! We managed to get up at 8am, freshen up and check out of our unit by 9:30am. We were heading to Agnes Water today but our bus wasn't due until this afternoon so we had a few hours to kill. We had no food on us for lunch so we caught the shuttle bus to the supermarket to get some. Roy and Nanna were also on the shuttle bus into town as their bus was departing earlier. We wish they were heading north like us but unfortunately they were heading south.
When we arrived in town we said our goodbyes to them then went into the supermarket. Neither of us were that hungry so we just got a potato each and some baked beans and cheese.
A couple of hours later it was time for both Emma's to catch their bus. They were on their way north towards a town where they could have fun on a ranch for two days. I am so jealous, I would love to ride around on horses rounding up cows and doing whatever ranch girls do! Unfortunately we don't have enough time so we can't join them.
We said goodbye to the Emma's and continued to wait for our bus. We got Internet and booked our next accommodation in Agnes Water, three nights at a hostel called Cool Bananas. We decided to stay in an eight bed dorm this time as it worked out cheaper than staying in a private room.
Finally 1:45pm came around, the morning seemed to pass so slowly! We took the shuttle back into town and waited at the station for our greyhound coach to arrive. We left at 14:25pm for Agnes Water (Town 1770) and arrived at 6:30pm. The coach wasn't that busy so we got two seats each to stretch out on and the driver put E.T on for us. Chris slept through the whole film.
Waiting for us at the bus station were two topless guys holding up a big yellow banana advertising the hostel. It all looked a bit cheesy to be honest and the guy had no shoes on! His feet looked rank. They walked us over to the shuttle bus and drove us the whole three minutes to the hostel up the road. From outside the hostel looked cool and inside looked even cooler. We were tired from the long bus journey so couldn't wait to check in and go to our room. We were in front of a que of other back packers waiting to check in. Chris pulled the iPad out to show the receptionist our reservation. She looked at it then said she had never heard of Agoda so had to check with the manager. The manager came over and took one look at our iPad then loudly shouted "We don't accept anything but paper reservations." Chris explained it had never been a problem before then he really started yelling. I raised my voice and interrupted him asking "Where's the computer then, we will print one off." He continued to shout as he spoke which really aggravated me. All we wanted to do was check in. This guy was so rude and had no professional customer service at all! I couldn't believe he was the manager! He said they didn't have a printer on site so we would have to go to an Internet shop before we could check in. I asked him where then looked at the receptionist in shock. She looked a little embarrassed. He told us to go down the road then picked up our iPad and read out the small print saying we would have to provide a printed copy of receipt. I was tired from the journey and could feel myself beginning to lose it. We had absolutely no problem about going down the road to print out a copy, we never argued with him but the man was acting like he wanted one!
We walked away and went to the shop to print out our receipt. When we got back the receptionist was extra nice to us and the manager was acting really friendly to the rest of the people checking in. I think he may have realised how much of a d*** he was. I'm still going to give him the worst review on Agoda. The dude with no shoes showed us to our dorm. He was very friendly and still shoeless. The room was nice and the rest of the hostel looked cool, it's just such a shame that a nobb head was running the place!
After dinner we sat down in the tv room which happened to be in the same room as the reception. We tried to watch the end of Bridesmaids and Family Guy but the manager kept walking through raising his voice about something at someone! Then a member of staff starting singing (badly) along to her guitar with the receptionist! We had no chance of hearing the tv even on full volume so we went to bed early.
