Tare Suprise and the last few days at Sangam= busy, busy, busy!!!
We were given a page of tasks to complete including evaluations, collecting photos, reports, presentations and we also had exit interviews to talk about our time at Sangam. Needless to say we weren't too thrilled about doing them only because it meant that we had to eaccept that our time at Sangam was coming to an end!
In the mean time though we had time for swimming, packing-it took some longer than others...not naming names :P and last minute shopping which for many included trips to buy additional suitcases! hahaha :D We certainly accumulated alot of stuff over the last few months!
The Tare suprise wa awesome!!! I couldn't believe it- there were no clues before hand and only a few people knew what it was... RICKSHAW DRIVING!!!!!!!!! Yes my first ever driving experience was not a car or a scooter like it is for most teenagers but a rickshaw!!! It was awesome! Sangam hired two and the drivers brought them to the campground and we all had turns driving up and down the site! It was super fun although I don't think that i'll be getting my licence any time soon... I may have occansionally been looking at what the handel bars were doing and not what was in front of me, can't say the steering was too great either! But I had fun! Priya was a real expert-we told her that she should set up her own business-fun times!
As for the afternoon... Elephant riding!!! The elephant was called Laxmi and she was huge!!! We went down to Koregon Park-one of the main shopping districts in Pune, there's loads of restaurants and coffe shops e.t.c, not exactly the place that you'd expect to see and elephant! Only in India. It was awesome, we climbed up her side and sat on top whilst she plodded up and down the main road, many a rickshaw and motorbike had to swevre out of her way and once a lorry got a bit too close for comfort! Sliding down her side made it easy enough to get off although not for poor Bron whoose bag got caught and she was literally being hung by the neck for a few moments! She was ok which is good but it was rather funny!!!
The last evening at Sangam was always going to be sad with most people leaving and stress levels were high as people tried to squish all those saris and punjabis, bracelets and badges into their badges. So in light of this after our last meal- samosas and the best tomato salsa ever! we all went upstairs for the next and final suprise!... WII :D the glee version anddance party! It was the perfect thing to lighten the mood and everyone had a great time singing and dancing along! By the end of the night, tired out from dancing and crying (from goodbyes!) we went to bed knowing that tomorrow we'd have to leave, well at leas for a few weeks.
