This morning I felt well treated as I slept through the night for the first time since arrival in England. After breakfast, we walked down to the coach and began the coach ride. To Glastonbury. We set out slightly later than I had hoped we would but I decided to proceed with the day my way anyhow!! So we were dropped near the Roman bridge ask began the walk over Wearyall Hill and in to town and the abbey. I was disappointed that the abbey staff insisted on guiding the kids instead of letting them enjoy the area and discover things for themselves. We were a bit rushed and after picking up our lunches we made our way up the tor. I foudb the climb quite heavy going and if I am
Or do it again I will do some hill climbing prep. In fact I think my so called fitness regime should include some hill climb type activity for improved cardiac fitness. Anyway I made it it the top with a few short rests .What worried us most was Gail... She insisted on coming up and then almost passed out on us at the top. She was sweating. Profusely bs struggling to breathe. I stayed calm but it was pretty scary. We lingered at the top over our lunches and then eventfully made our way down. This time I found the footpath easily and we enjoyed a lovely stroll across the fields. We foudb the coach and web ton to Weslls . Here again I was disappointed by being at the next of tour guides who insisted on boring the kids wig lots of ancient dates facts and figures. Fortunately our dinner at sally Lunns was good and the kids really enjoyed that.
I loved the evensong service - as expected and we have decided it try to make it to Salisbury in time or attend tomorrow night.
I am very tired so keeping this short.
