The Bay of Islands is our last little bit of our Kiwi Experience right to the 'winterless' top of the country. The area is really nice by the water and is actually really warm. We drove to Auckland today whcih I must say is the most broing journey to date! Oh well at least sleep was caught up on! We didn't get up to much today as time escaped us but we played some frisby in the park and had dinner in a posh chinese restaurant which was nice. We have decided we are no longer backpackers but flashpackers lol. Rotoroa absoluty stinks. People warn you but you jsut dont realise the extent! lol. We went to a Mauri evening on our first night which was so good. We were shown rituals, how they lived, weapons, dances and songs followed by a traditional feast. It was so good. While here we also watched the world championship water skiing live which was an experience. Taupo is another beautiful place with a great lake. In fact it has a special lake thats dpeth and width and length mean that the curvature of the world can be seen on it!! Fasinating. We were hoping to do a sky dive here but unfortunatly the weather was too cloudy but we cant do everything at once - we need to leave some adventure for the future! lol. We did have a picnic surrounded by ducks and found an awesome playground so not all was lost! lol.

We took the ferry to the North island today which we are promised is warmer than the South - hoorah!! Although im not sure if i whole heartedly believe them as it is currently raining!!! We are palnning to cook proper food while here and to be intellectual by visiting the museum which is meant to be one of the best!
