Rotoroa absoluty stinks. People warn you but you jsut dont realise the extent! lol. We went to a Mauri evening on our first night which was so good. We were shown rituals, how they lived, weapons, dances and songs followed by a traditional feast. It was so good. While here we also watched the world championship water skiing live which was an experience. I have never been to such an international sporting event before! everyone was in their countries tracksuits and rweally getting into it - a great atmosphere! We also went zorbing which is commonly known as human hamster balling! Basically 2 people get in a giant ball with water in it and get pushed down a hill! It is a cross between being in a hamster ball and a washing machinhe - great fun. I have never screamed so much in my life. I recommend it to all! We also took a day trip to Waitomo where all the main caves are. most of our group did black water rafting which is pot holeing with absailing, waterfall jumping and rubber ringing thrown in for good measure. This qould be my idea of hell as I am petrified of small spaces especially underground in caves. Needless to say i opted out of this and Cesca took me on a gently introduction to caves. This entailed 2 large and airy caves. The first on had water in ti so we sat in a dingy and drifted through. It was pitch black so we could see all the glowworms - quite magical. We then went in another with it sown wlakway adn lighting which was perfect. It was scary for both of us as Cesca doesnt like the drak so we helped each other through and are well on our way to conquering the fear!!!!! lol.
