So I was going to write an immense blog entry about my holidays, buuuuuuuuuuut, I have to get up really early tomorrow to leave for Otjikondo and I'm shattered and it would just be crap. So! I have decided not to write a lovely report for you all and instead will write a list =d
1. Rundu, Namibia - stayed a night
2. Katima, Caprivi Strip, Namibia - stayed a night
3. Livingstone, Zambia - stayed at taxi driver's house as all accomodation was fully booked ha! His name was Henry, he lived in the township, we all pissed in a hole in the ground, ate pap, he had a beautiful son, and him and his family were just genuinely some of the greatest people I have had the priviledge to meet(= Definitely had the African Experience!! We stayed a night.
4. Livingstone, Zambia - Livingstone Backpackers, stayed one night. Was a cooool place.
Oh yeah, Zambia has the greatest music!
5. Vic Falls Town, Zimbabwe - Shoestrings Backpackers, coolest hostel!
6. Epic train from Vic Falls Town down to Bulawayo! Basically the Hogwarts Express...
7. Visited Art Gallery in Bulawayo, then set off on a loooooong drive up to HARARE!
8. Arrived in Harare late, could not find the guest house we were booked into, found it eventually, crashed.
9. Harare International Festival of the Arts! Woooo! Epic music, stalls, people, art, EVERYTHING <3 Okay, banks were s***e. On the last day, EVERY ATM either had no cash, or didn't take VISA. I mean, what the hell? That was a little bit s***. But the Festival was too epic to properly care.
10. TIME TO LEAVE HARARE! Next went to Botswana! Stayed a night in Maun, at two of the Botswana Volunteers project! (=
11. TIME TO LEAVE BOTSWANA! Got to the Namibian border, caught an epic as hell lift from this South African dude in a fly as anything Range Rover. Comfiest hitch ever, and all for free - YAYYY! Arrive at 'The Box' for a night, then headed off early forrrrrrrrrrrr LUDERITZ!
12. Arrived in Luderitz after about ten hours of travelling, got an empty coach for a lift from Rehoboth to Keetmanshoop haha! Was a laughhhh! Met the volunteers there, Emily and Jess, and then Ellie and Mel joined us during the week. We painting, watched films, went to the seaaaa, went for a meallllll, and had a very awesome timeeee(=
13. TIME TO LEAVE LUDERITZ!! Jordan and I left a day early to go see our friend Steph in Windhoek and her family =d Boys - Scott, Stewart, and Jack - then joined the day after. Went to the mall, watched films, made pizza, went to a club, had a good sleep, had epic showers, etc.
IT'S BEEN AN INSANE HOLIDAY AND NOW IT'S OVER.
This has been a s***ty blog entry, but I've tried the hardest I can muster for tonight.
Hope you're all well, this will most like be one of my last, if not, the last, blog entry and I thank you all again for any kind of support you gave me for my year away. I can assure you, it's been worth it and I will be able to speak to you all when I come home. IN 3 MONTHS AHHHH </3
Take care,
Cat (=
