Hi guys... Basically the majority of people who will stumble across this little blog thingy will know me / know of me, and have the knowledge that I'm about to leave on one of the most epic experiences I will probably have in my lifetime - my year away in the immense African country of Namibia! (With the charitable organisation Project Trust)Yes, I can sense all your jealousy. Kidding, you're probably not jealous at all. But hopefully you're pretty excited for me and intrigued to know a little of what I'll be getting up to over the next year. And if you think using the word 'intrigued' is still a little too far, then ask yourself this question... How come you're on my blog reading this horrendous 'Welcome message'? Answer = INTRIGUED! Or at least a little interested...
Anyway.
For a whole year I will be living my life like a local! I will be teaching Art, Music, Drama and Sport at the Otjikondo Village School. Otjikondo is an extremely rural primary school, I will be working 7 days a week and me and my project partner were told that really, it's just as well we're working at the weekends because there is absolutely nothing to do. Yes... I thought my social life as a teen in Scotland got ridiculously bad at times - no longer! But I'm certain I will meet the most amazing people where I am and throughout my travels around the beautiful African continent! I'll definitely be kept busy! Basically I'm like the most excited person ever right now! I keep trying to find reason to be sad about leaving the normalities of my life, for no other reason than it giving a sense of reality to the whole situation, and no offence to the people who know me very well - close friends and family - but I can't find any reasons. It is just too great an experience. As for me seeking reality, I'm sure it'll hit me the same time the heat does. Or maybe the first night I have to cook myself dinner - HA. Or clean. Nothing like getting out of your comfort zone.
So, I've not really said much about my project at all, but I've written farrrr too much and I want people to enjoy looking at this blog so please get in touch with me!(= A letter, e-mail, postcard (yes - for those I know - if you go on holiday to the North of Scotland or something, I'd love a postcard - I'll send one back!), anything, will be the most exciting and appreciated thing ever! I will get internet access hopefully once a month / every two months so I will be trying to keep you all updated as much as I can!
Oh by the way, I leave on the 31st August - forgot to mention that!
So yeah, update as much as possible!

Everyone I know who is working / going to Uni / doing nothing... (Just everyone I know) - Also have amazing years! And good luck school friends who are off to Uni / sitting exams!!=)

Please don't forget me. I am coming back. A year in the scale of a lifetime...? It will go too fast!
