Greetings from Lakeside, Pokhara!
After a strange couple of days involving a sacrificial goat, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and a wild animal (not all at the same time) I have waved goodbye to my worthy volunteering efforts and am gearing up fro a few days enjoying the fleshpots of tourism before heading into the wilderness. Amongst the fleshpots I am currently enjoying are Broadband, Diet Coke (I've had none since leaving the UK, just an occasional bottle of real Coke), a tiled bathroom and air conditioning. I had originally intended trying to blog more often but was foiled by the lack of mobile communication - so I've kept a journal instead. Last week, in an idle moment when I realised that all the days were blending together, I gave a title to each journal entry reflecting something unusual that had happened that day with a short synopsis. I will be recapping those for you over this week whilst enjoying the amazing Broadband speeds...
Guest house is great, with a fantastic view of the lake. And there's no peacock!
Off to find a cafe for a cold beer.
