Today we had our first real fail. A bit of a sleep in before packing our bags, having a late breakfast and jumping on the train to head to pick up our motorhome! Dark haired nomads for a week! Everything was going swimmingly, we had our first two train changes completed and were heading for our third when we were told that all of the overland trains to Luton (where we were trying to get to) on the line we were trying to use were cancelled. After some swearing we were told to catch two more trains to St. Pancras where we could get a different overland train to Luton. Surprise! When we got there we were told to catch a train to different station to then catch a bus. I DON'T THINK SO! So the toys came out of the cot and we had our first London black cab experience for 80 quid. It took 3.5hrs and cost £110 for a trip that should've taken 1hr 10 and cost £30!! The good news for the day was we got a free motorhome upgrade from their base model to their top of the range one and we were finally on our way at about 5pm. After some time driving in the snow (we wish it was daylight because even in the dark the scenery was spectacular), we finally made it to our camp site in Nottingham at about 8pm. Quick setup for the van (plug in the mains to run the heater all night!) and it was off to bed for two tired and emotional newlyweds!
