Again it's been a while since I typed about my adventures in China. It's been pretty crazy for the past 2 weeks with midterms and so much celebration from peoples' birthdays and such. I have been hanging out at a bar almost every single night (yes a bar) with the chinese bartenders and waitresses who do not know an ounce of English, so I practice speaking Chinese with them, it's pretty awesome. It's actually more useful than going to class, and more helpful as well so I usually tend to stay and talk to them until about 3am and then go to class at 8am and basically act like a zombie all during class... Yes I've become quite a bad student now. At least I'm enjoying China and having fun and meeting lots of great new friends who are Chinese and can't speak any English and want me to teach them some English. Little do they know, me teaching them English in Chinese actually helps me a lot more than it helps them, because I can only teach them so much without a book and at a bar =P

This week is Halloween and there are going to be CRAZY parties- they really go all out here it seems like. At least not at the same scale as the U.S. but I really thought they wouldn't even celebrate it! Guess what? I'm gonna be dressed as a traditional chinese girl in a qipao dress... haha I'm pretty stereotypical.

Speaking of stereotypical... ONLY IN CHINA will you walk in the middle of the street because the sidewalks are just so freaking terrible you can't walk on them without tripping all the time, also only in China will you see people of all ages doing crazy qihou moves while walking around and not think they're crazy--- because it's totally normal.

Oh China, you continue to surprise me every day. I would totally live in this city, it's amazing. I am very tempted to come back to China after I graduate and find a job here =D It's so refreshing and safe. YES IT'S SAFE!! It's the safest place I've been to in a long time. Children still play outside BY THEMSELVES in the dark. Nobody owns a gun because it's illegal for anyone other than policeman to own a gun. You can walk home by yourself at 3 or 4am and not be absolutely freaked out and worried someone is going to rape you or mug you.

DAMN I love this place.
