HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone had a great crimbo and new year!

Havent updated this for a while! Arrived safely in Manly on the 23rd of december! Had an awesome time driving up the coast in my mercedes van, stopped off in some great places up the coast!(and nearly killed a kangaroo that jumped into my van along the way!!!)

Im having an absolute blast here in Manly, the last couple of weeks have been awesome! We saw xmas day in on the beach in Manly, everyone from the hostel went down to a small cove where we had a big bbq, sang around singing to a guitar and drank litres of goon! (that stuff is going to be the death of me!)

Xmas day was really cool but so different - we sat on the beach all day in our santa hats, it was so hot! We got interviewed by a tv channel over here called 10 - they were asking us about our experience of xmas over here and we made it on the 5 o'lock news!! In the evening we all had an awesome dinner which the hostel did on the roof top, we played lots of drinking games before hitting the beach where we all went for a late night dip!

We have had quite a few nights out in between xmas and new year, hitting some rock clubs and dressing up in fancy dress for a friends birthday! Most days we hit the beach! There is an awesome group of people here, we all have such a laugh, its really good fun.

New years eve was absolutely awesome! We went to the botanical gardens which overlooked the harbour, we could see the sydney opera house, the bridge and all of the harbour from where we were sat. incredible. We had to queue for about 4 hours to get in, but it was definutely worth it when we finally got inside. We managed to find a cracking spot right at head of the gardens under a nice tree, we had some snacks in the day and hung out - it had a great festival atmosphere there. There were a set of fireworks at 9pm which were really good before the main fireworks at 12am which were absolutely out of this world! They had 3 sets of fireworks going off at the same time at different points in the harbour along with ones on the bridge - it was amazing!! Incredible to see the reflection on the water aswell. There were so many boats in the habour which were lit up with awesome lights, it just looked incredible! Best display ive ever seen!

Have decided to stay in Manly to work, have fallen in love with it here, its such a cool place! Hoping to just stay in the hostel and work or get a flat, who knows!!
