Hey guys!
Hope everyone is well :-)
My first blog entry....how exciting! I tried writing one a few days ago but the internet crashed halfway through, so annoying!
Had an awesome week in Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is an amazing city and everyone was really friendly. Stayed in a really cool hostel called the Red Palm, it was very chilled out there, everyone would sit around on the floor on cushions and there was always insense burning. There was also an indian restaurant next door which stays open 24 hours - ideal. Also met some really cool people there! Lots of bants.
Did some cool sightseeing in the days, went to the Petrona Towers and up the KL tower to get a good view of the city and had a nose around China Town. Visited some of the nice lake gardens there which had some water features and many koi to be seen. Checked out an orchid and bird park and also had a look around an amazing butterfly park! It was magical. Also went to an awesome Chinese temple, incredible to look at.
I checked out the Batu Caves in the north of the city which is a Hindu Temple. There are 250 steps up to the caves and at the bottom of the steps there is a MASSIVE gold hindu statue guarding the caves. It looks exactly like of the figures from the never ending story film where atreyu has to run past them before they shoot things from their eyes. I was sweating like a cow by the time i climbed the steps to the caves, it was sooooo hot. Just as i was about to enter the caves some random guy has a massive yellow snake on his neck... i actually screamed with shock and ran to the side, well embarrasing. It was cool inside the caves, there were some nice Hindu shrines and there were also looooads of monkeys running around. After getting bitten by that one in Gibralter that time, i stayed well out of their way, bants.
The food was pretty cool there, a mix of Malaysia, Indian and Chinese. There were loads of really awesome street stalls where they cook it all up for you while you stand there. We found one stall that had a tank of live frogs, eels and weird snail things to have with your noodles. Crazy!
On my last day i splashed out and spent the equivalent of 8 pounds on a one hour thai massage. It was amaaaaaaazing.
Kid and Shaz, thanks so much again for that fan - you guys literally saved my life in Malaysia with that item!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So anyhoo, im now in Melbourne!!!
Having a fun time in the hostel here, have been hanging out with some random scottish guys who are well good bants (never thought i would say that!) We went to a house party last night which was good fun. Have been hanging out at the beach during the day, its warm here but not baking hot! Really looking forward to seeing soph tommorow!!! Hitting the Neighbours bar on tuesday night, Racheal, Irish Connor, Boyd and Steve are going to be there....not KK like i was hoping for, however im gonna definutely go every week until i meet him or toady for sure.
