First full day in San Fran today and it was great. We went to the hotel for breakfast and then headed out to jump on the big bus city tour which even the kids loved. We went around the civic area- lots of homless beggers , one of which threw a hanful of food at us as we passed , so he mustn't be starving! We passed through hippy street where you can legal smoke weed as long as you nip to the corner shop doctors and say you are depressed! We passed Jimmy Hendrix's house and a whole host of psychadellic coloured shops and hippy clad flower powered people and the definite smell of weed- lots of people got off at thus stop - ummmmm! We passed the most expensive drug and rehab house you have ever seen in the posh Haight area, and then headed across the spectacular golden gate bridge - even though it was a bright day the wind was freezing.Looping around we headed back into the city finishing off at fishermans wharf. Apparently San Fran is the most expensive place in the USA to live, recently surpassing New York, as the tour guide told us every one of the nine times he asked for a tip! Why would you pay so much monet to live on top of the San Andreaus fault, where an earthquake to take your house at any minute!
