Last day of a brilliant holiday . Raining unfortunately - got a slightly later check out of 1.30- getting picked up at 5.30 to be taken to the airport for out 10 pm flight, arriving 1pm tomorrow at Heathrow.looking forward to flying first class home - there are only 6 people ( 4 of them us), so we're going to have a mini party! Managed to change flight up to newcastle from 6.35 pm to 2.50 pm - Saving us 3 hours of sitting around at Heathrow . Off for breakfas...

Up late after great night - breakfast , weather raining so went to market , then indoor shopping centre for lunch. The centre was really busy, but loads of the shops were closed I'm wondering if they had a siesta as they seem to be opening in at 3 PM when we left. Got back had a little sleep, went to the gym. Guiness in the mud hut followed by cop acabana hotel. Meal was fantastic ( apart from the wasabee ice cream! ) Bill was lumpy but it was our last night.

Rio Scenario -possibly one of the coolest places I have ever been. In central Rio de Janeiro in the lapa area. The street was cordoned off and was alive with people in bars either side. Over four floors it can take up to 1000 people and I think they must've been nearly 1000 people in last night. Off to petrolis today - 90 min drive into countryside and mountain territory. Brilliant cathedral , and imperial museum where the royal family stayed. Back , out for lunch - quick kip then out tonight to the samba hotspot of the city - Rio Scenarium .
