Today we didn't get the boat repaired until 2:30pm so we had to settle for a short trip to Puerto Colon, only 10 miles down the coast. I got quite a bit of time at the helm, which is my favorite thing. But we didn't have time to dock so I just pulled into the harbor and turned the boat around and headed back.
It was basically a coastal navigation exercise for a requirement that Jerry needed. It was the most relaxed day so far because the wind is calmer closer to shore and we were within a mile.
We got back early and put the boat away and broke out a couple of beers.
So we are back in Las Gallatas and I just got back from having a very pleasant dinner with my two Russian friends. They have been here for two weeks and they knew of a good Italian Restaurant. I had a seafood pasta dish and we split a bottle of white wine. Great conversation. I learned a lot about the new free Russia and few Russians regret the demise of communism.
Well, I am going to turn in. Tomorrow is the last day of the milebuilder week. We have logged 220 miles plus whatever we do tomorrow. Then Friday it's the beginning of my Day Skipper course.
