Woke this morning to our first overcast day in Las Vegas, a few sprinkles of rain but not enough to wet the ground. Called into Pawn Stars shop on LV Blvd in Downtown, had a quick look around the shop before they closed for filming, didn't get to see Grandpa, Rick, Big Hoss or Chum-lee. Called into McDonalds up the street to catch up on email and check whether Collingwood had won the Anzac Day clash, don't think we could have watched it, as see they only won by 1 point!! Called into the Saxe Theatre to book in for 'Vegas the Show' tonight then past the Welcome to Vegas sign for a photo op together. The buffet at South Point was our next stop on today's agenda, who can pass up a free beer and $4.50 all you can eat lunch? Filled up on seafood,Chinese and Coconut Cream Pie and walked out feeling a little more uncomfortable than we walked in, due to our expanding waists!! We planned to spend the rest of the afternoon by the pool at the Golden Nugget and swim off our lunch. As well as swimming around the giant central fish tank with sharks and groppers, there is a very twisty three story water slide, heaps of fun!
We had booked in for the 7pm show with dinner afterwards, as we had upgraded to VIP tickets for $22 didn't have to wait in line and were only 5 rows from the front. Fabulous show depicting the history of Vegas with performances by the Rat Pack, Tina Turner, Sonny & Cher, Elvis, Tom Jones, Elton John, Showgirls, Dance troupes and much more. Really entertaining with a live show band. A lovely and even more filling dinner followed at one of the Italian restaurants in the complex. Two full meals in one day, we have really gone overboard today. Walked it off by viewing the fountains at Bellagio. A very full and enjoyable day!
