Ni-how, I have been learning new languages this week and I can now order drinks in six different languages. This is because I have been staying in the middle of the Australian outback. I am currently in the local libary as there is more life in a tramps vest in Bathurst.
Before I went off out into redneck country I had a day rip with part of the group to nelsons bay where we stayed over in a nice log cabin. We were going to go whale watching but the wind and rain was to strong, however we did get sand blasted when we went sand boarding which was great fun. We then proceeded back to Newcastle, to head down t bathurst with a a train change in sydney for two hours.
Our group of five arrived at bathurst late to find a house of 12 volunteers. After a welcome meal we all watched Beckham closing the olympics. The ext day the group got split, and I went out further into the outback to Ulan, were we got a tour of coal mine. The accomadtion which we stayed in was an old farmo cottage 3km!! off the main road. In the middleof nowhere there is great views of the stars, as thereis no TV radio or anything, which is good in away as everyone got to know each other and learn different things about each others countries. The group took in turns to cook ( 3 bbqs this week, kangeroo is delicious), and introduce new games, bob and marian would not like the way the rest of europe plays cards.
Our CVA leader Jenny was really good,as was the rest of the group, we had really good fun while working. This week we made an observation point, and palnted 1025 trees, which kind of make me feel better for all of these flights.
The libary is now closing I am now off to the pub to confuse the bar staff by asking for cider, and then guiness as blonde lager is horrible.
